About Preschool

IB PYP World School. Full-time, 5-days-a-week enrichment curriculum for preschool, daycare, and kindergarten ages in Bashamichi/Kannai, Yokohama. CGK provides quality childcare and education. It nurtures non-cognitive skills in children through a global education centered on self-expression, critical thinking skills, and a spirit of inquiry.

IB PYP World School. From Grade 1-5.
Located in Kannai, Yokohama, our school provides an environment that nurtures internationally-minded individuals that can contribute to a better world, maximizing their opportunities for happiness in an increasingly global world.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MIDDLE SCHOOL(Grade 6-9)

About Middle School

Scheduled to open April 2025. We will provide an environment that nurtures internationally-minded individuals that can contribute to a better world, maximizing their opportunities for happiness in an increasingly global world. Students will study abroad for 1 year from the summer of the 2nd year of Middle school.

About Afterschool

After-school programs for elementary students. In order to emphasize authentic, inquiry-based activities, we screen for English proficiency before admission. We also conduct project activities based on PBL (project-based learning), which provide a lively and enjoyable environment for advanced and in-depth learning. We hold seasonal schools as well.

About Study Abroad & Global Initiatives

We focus on the unique experiences that can be gained by studying in a different culture and environment through various initiatives such as study abroad programs, developing independence programs, parent classes for international families, accepting short-term international students. The 7th grade students have a study abroad program for one year, starting in the summer.

CGK Spring School 2024 Summary Report

Afterschool June 18, 2024

CGK Afterschool’s Summer School program is just around the corner!
Students and teachers are looking forward to the large variety of activities that are in store this year. We are particularly looking forward to this year as many teachers from CGK Preschool and CGK Elementary School will be running activities as guest teachers bringing their unique ideas and styles to share with everyone!

As Summer School approaches, we thought it would be good to look back on this year's Spring School and share a glimpse of what students got up to over the two week period. Please find the link to the 2024 Summer School Program attached below and we are all looking forward to seeing old and new faces alike!

Summer School

3/18 Athletic Tuskushino:
Students had a big adventure and a lot of fun engaging in physical challenges and overcoming various rope ways.
3/19 Art Day:
Students were introduced to various artists and the different types of art they use in their work before completing their own original work and presenting it to their peers.
3/21 Science Museum:
Students jumped on the CGK bus and headed to downtown Tokyo for a fun-filled day at the Science Museum where they learned a lot while having a blast interacting with all the exhibits.
3/22 Debate Day:
Through discussion, examples, and fun role plays students discovered the basics of debating and worked in two teams to research the pros and cons of school uniforms before participating in a debate themselves.
3/25 Cardboard Arcade:
After looking at some examples and discussing the many possibilities on offer, students worked in teams to create a game out of classroom materials that everyone could enjoy and presented it to their peers.
3/26 The Life Cycle of Plants:
Through discussion, videos, and crafts, students delved into the life cycle of plants and the various fascinating parts they possess.
3/27 The Life Cycle of Butterflies:
After discussion in the classroom students walked down to Yamashita Park on a beautiful spring day with a butterfly information booklet in hunt of butterflies.
3/28 Water Xylophone:
Through discussion and a variety of fun experiments students investigated the way sound works and how it interacts differently with solids, liquids, and gasses. Students then used glass jars and liquids to create their own music before performing for their peers.
3/29 Cup Noodle Museum:
Students learned about the history of cup noodles and made their own original cup noodle at the world famous cup noodle museum before finishing the day with some play time at the cup noodle park.
4/1 Asobimare:
Students enjoyed a fun-filled day at Asobimare running, jumping, and rolling over all of the various challenges on offer!
4/2 Childrens Nature Park:
Students had a blast exploring the park with their friends, hiking on nature trails, and trying out the various attractions.
4/3 American Carnival:
Students looked into and discussed USA style carnivals with teachers from the USA before creating their own carnival attractions and presenting them to their peers. After presentation time everyone had the chance to play with the various games and enjoy the carnival atmosphere together.
4/4 Sea Paradise:
After a short bus ride to Sea Paradise students explored the aquarium and learned about the large variety of sea animals that call sea paradise their home. After a group picnic everyone was blown away watching the amazing dolphin show.
4/5 Egg Drop:
For the final day of Spring School students were given the challenge to protect an egg dropped from a large height. After discussing the physics at play and brainstorming some ideas students split into groups and got to work creating their own unique egg protecting devices! None of the eggs broke!
