Program Calendar
October 15(Tue) | CGK Halloween |
Let's Enjoy Halloween!Students will discuss different aspects of Halloween and how they can incorporate them into their activity today. Students will then split into two groups that will be working in separate classrooms to turn each room into a haunted house! Students can research different ideas beforehand or jump straight into the activity and let their imagination run wild. Students will be given the freedom to decide how they want to approach this and can focus on many different areas such as decorations, games, acting, and many more. Students will then have the chance to experience each other's haunted houses before presenting their thoughts on each. Costumes are voluntary but those who wear them can take part in a Halloween costume contest. *Students will be able to eat candy they get from trick or treating. |
---|---|---|
October 16(Wed) | CGK Harvest Festival |
Let's enjoy our original Harvest Festival!Students will discuss what they know about Harvest Festivals and look at examples from around the world. Harvest festivals exist in various forms in different countries and revolve around the core idea of being thankful and giving back to the community. In this spirit the CGK harvest festival will hold a food collection where students are encouraged to bring any food (cans and items with a long best before date) with the aim of donating it to a local food bank to help those less fortunate. As well as learning about giving back and helping others we will play various harvest festival games and create our own festival food. *There is a chance students may get a little messy when crafting. |
