CGK Helping the Community with YSHP

To start winding down a busy 2025 some CGK families and staff joined Yokohama Spring Homeless Patrol (YSHP) to help hand out some essential items to the homeless and those in need within our local community. On this particular event there were over 30 volunteers making it a big turnout. Similarly there were over 150 people waiting for hours for the event to begin.

Volunteers representing CGK not only kindly donated their time but generously donated items such as canned food, heat packs, fruits and vegetables, and ready to eat meals, amongst other items. Pooled together with other items brought by other volunteers or donated to YSHP, we were able to hand out these items at JR Kannai station, the underground concourse, and Yokohama Stadium.

Whilst it may have been the first time to volunteer at such an event for some, many families from CGK have already planned to join again. YSHP has events every two weeks and post information on their Facebook page "YSHP Yokohama Spring Homeless Patrol". Winter is coming so everyone's help and effort will go a long, long way.

This is the last event for 2025 but there will be more collaboration with YSHP in 2026. Thank you for everyone's time, effort, and generosity.
