Our First Swimming Lesson at Breezbay Fitness Club
We arranged exclusive use of the pool at Breezbay Fitness Club inside the Breezbay Hotel near Sakuragicho Station. The first lesson took place on July 11.
The children had been looking forward to it and proudly showed their pool bags on arrival. Even children who usually took their time with morning routines quickly got ready and changed into swimwear.
Once everyone was ready, we reviewed the pool rules. We explained clearly that swimming is fun, but can be dangerous unless everyone listens to the teachers and uses the pool properly.
Then we boarded the bus, full of anticipation!
At the pool, we greeted the coach. Yuki-sensei led the lesson from there.
After warming up, the children sat on the poolside and practiced kicking, making energetic splashes. They tapped the water like a drum, moved along while holding the side and passed through hoops.
Finally, a large floating mat became a boat, helping them enjoy the spacious pool.
Some children were already comfortable playing in water, while others were not. The coach and teachers watched each child’s level and reactions, helping everyone enjoy the experience. There were smiles everywhere.
While changing afterward, the children actively managed their clothes and belongings. Their everyday habit of putting away clothes they had taken off helped them manage this new setting too.
Three more swimming lessons were planned for that school year. We looked forward to enjoying them while working to prevent injuries and accidents.
