Fiesta! Exploring Mexico Through Dance and Play

For May’s multicultural theme, Mexico, we held a Fiesta event.

After hearing about Mexico, the children moved to Mexican dance music and tried a piñata activity.

A piñata is a paper container often used for celebrations in Mexico. It is filled with treats, hung up and hit with a stick until it opens.

The children tried repeatedly, taking turns when it did not break easily.

As small openings appeared and a sweet fell out, they stared in surprise.

They became absorbed in the activity and happily gathered the fallen treats. Everyone enjoyed it with smiles.

Our piñata was a cute donkey!
