An Errand to the Post Office for New Year’s Cards

Preschool December 24, 2018
Recently, Minoru, CGK’s founder, was wondering how to send New Year’s cards to everyone’s homes when there were none left at school. The children went together to the post office to help.
One child told us, “I have a lot in my house!” But as we could not go to everyone’s homes to collect cards, we decided to buy them at the nearby post office.

We all went together, and two children represented the group at the counter. They handed over the money and received the cards and change, successfully completing their purchase.

When the shopping was finished, everyone said “Thank you!” and “Arigatou gozaimashita!” before heading back.

The post office staff treated us kindly and even gave the children coloring sheets to take home. It was a very enjoyable visit.

Our Job Training theme that month was “Postal Worker.” Actually visiting a post office to buy New Year’s cards deepened the children’s interest and understanding, making this a valuable experience.
