Two-Year-Old Class Video: Playing Shops

With Chef as the month’s Job Training theme, our two-year-old class played shops.
Pizza, ice cream, doughnut and candy shops opened for business. Before shopping, we practiced exchanges such as “What do you want?”, asking for two ice creams and saying “Thank you!”
The children used expressions learned through earlier job experiences to communicate with one another.
(Of course, mistakes are part of the process.)
It is moving to see two-year-olds, still developing their Japanese speech too, using English to communicate.
Their grammar is not always exact, but their ability to play using the language they already know is impressive.
Early English learning at preschool uses active learning to develop a wide range of expressions and communication skills.
